I am really thrilled to bring to everyone through my Corkside Wine Club collaboration with Chef Rich Krug of Krug Catering, an evening of wine, food and conversation with Andre Mack of Mouton Noir Wines. The event will be on September 14 at Orange Lawn Tennis Club in South Orange, NJ, starting with a reception at 7PM that will lead into a four course/four wine dinner paired with stories and insights from Andre. He created the Mouton Noir wine label (and the actual labels) beginning in 2007 after an early wine career that saw him named the first African American to win the Best Young Sommelier in the United States and eventually head sommelier at this NYC food joint called Per Se.
You may have heard him interviewed on NPR, seen him do his Tedx talk on YouTube or in national ads and pieces for Microsoft, Breitling Watches and National Car Rental among others, or read about his accomplishments when he was named to the Black Enterprise Top 100 last year. He is a business leader and a thought leader; a sommelier, winemaker and a design professional while being a real wine lover and foodie; an industry star and a media star; forward thinking and seemingly and tirelessly always moving forward; Jersey native and Brooklyn resident; and perhaps most important to him, a husband and a father and a guy who really is connected to his neighborhood and communities, real and virtual. His wine is really good too.
